What is N.E.R.D. Camp?
N.E.R.D. Camp is a fundraiser for the Foothill High School Technology Student Association. All money goes directly to Foothill TSA to help purchase robotics and drone parts, register for competitions, and run TSA throughout the school year.
For 3 days during summer, we open up our classrooms for 6th - 9th graders to come check out some of the opportunities that we have at Foothill High School.
We introduce some concepts like:
Building/Programming Robots
Flying Drones
Computer Aided Design (CAD)
3D Printing
Engineering
Artificial Intelligence
Last year we had 32 middle schoolers from throughout Shasta County! Spots are limited! Sign up today!
"NERD Camp helped my son with his confidence. He wasn't sure about going to high school or Foothill, but the activities with Mr. Hodge introduced him to other like minded students and the fun he could have at Foothill."
Veronica- Parent of past attendee
"It was a really fun time that kickstarted my Foothill VEX Robotics journey"
Zander- 2 time NERD Camp Attendee
"Getting to work with up and coming "NERDs" has been really fulfilling. It's a really great experience for middle schoolers to have this preview into what can be accomplished in high school."
Richard Greenwood- TSA President 25-26
"N.E.R.D. Camp has been so fundamental to developing our Robotics and TSA culture here at Foothill. This is our 3rd year doing N.E.R.D. Camp and the kids, both attendees and volunteers love it! It gives us such a unique place for us to be ourselves and expand our imaginations"
Brett Hodge- TSA Advisor
